The Investment Society is stoked to present our first Recruitment Skills Workshop, an absolute game changer for eager students in areas such as Accounting, Finance and Economics.
We have a special panel of current UC students who have vast experience in the intern and grad application process, who have successfully gone through interview stages and got job offers in some of the most competitive industries, including investment banking, equity research, corporate finance, trading and wealth management, accounting, auditing, risk advisory, asset management, and banking – to name a few!
Whether you're a first year who will be applying for internships next year or a second year who will be applying for graduate positions come early 2020 all are welcome!
We'll provide a useful overview of the financial industry in New Zealand, all the main categories of jobs and opportunities that are out there, and help you identify what might be best suited to your own interests and preferences, while helping you understand the different approaches needed to applying for roles at these different organisations.
The main topics in our presentation and discussion will include:
What opportunities are out there and how to find them!
How to prepare yourself and approach applications, including preparing CV, cover letter, answers for online application questions, psychometric testing & questionnaires, interviews & assessment days.
How to select between job offers and prepare for an internship
How to deal with rejection, and reflecting and prepare for the next opportunity
There will be plenty of Q&A opportunities so please bring any burning questions and feel free to come and take notes! Register below! We'll see you there!
